IT Project Manager, Systems Analyst, IT Consultant
Position Summary
The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex technology projects, with a focus on mainframe-based applications and enterprise systems. This role leads cross‑functional technical teams and ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Drive collaboration across business and IT teams to ensure successful solution delivery
- Drive planning to ensure a realistic plan is built to achieve the desired end‑state
- Constantly monitor team progress against the plan and remove blockers, address issues, and recommend corrective actions
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of IT projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
- Manage cross‑functional technical teams, including developers, analysts, infrastructure resources, and vendors
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations
- Coordinate and communicate project activities, progress, and risks to stakeholders and leadership
- Ensure adherence to SDLC methodologies, project management standards, and governance frameworks
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies
- Facilitate requirements gathering and translate business needs into technical deliverables
- Oversee project documentation, reporting, and metrics tracking
- Support continuous improvement of project management processes and tools
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience leading technical project teams in an IT environment
- 5+ years of experience managing IT projects, including multiple concurrent initiatives
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches)
- Experience delivering projects across the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, cost, and quality outcomes
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar
- Experience managing mainframe application projects (e.g., COBOL, CICS, DB2 environments)
- Familiarity with legacy system modernization or mainframe integration initiatives
- Experience working in large‑scale enterprise or regulated environments
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar certification
- Experience coordinating with offshore or distributed teams
- Leadership and team facilitation

- Organizational and multitasking skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- May require collaboration across geographically distributed teams
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs
