Job SummarySupervises staff and operations of nursing care for assigned areas or units. Schedules and ensures appropriate staffing. Ensures supplies and equipment are available. Works with Ambulatory Operation Director and clinical directors to resolve issues pertaining to the assigned area. Educates and consults patients and families regarding their concerns. Performs job duties in accordance with UMMC's purpose.
Education & ExperienceMust be licensed as RN for three (3) years. BSN preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR REGISTRATION REQUIREDValid RN License, BLS
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of nursing procedures. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and registered nurses. Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools, and programs. Supervisory skills. Possesses current competencies in nursing clinical practice.
Responsibilities- Supervises and organizes the clinical staff schedule for the assigned areas or units in accordance with approved productivity standards.
- Supervises daily operation of assigned areas or units, including but not limited to adherence to nursing standards of practice and administrative initiatives.
- Assists with training and mentoring personnel.
- Supervises clinical staff on assigned units.
- Ensures that personnel demonstrate quality standards of customer satisfaction and patient care.
- Demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.
- Tracks unit productivity and provides necessary reports to AOD.
- Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities to enhance the delivery of clinical care.
- Orders clinic supplies and medications as needed.
- Performs evaluations of clinical staff.
