Job OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for a Trauma Med Surg Registered Nurse to join HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital, a leading provider of healthcare services. In this role you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in line with department standards and state specialty regulations. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team, act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, and embody the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities• Assess a patient’s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient’s medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Preferred)
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or holds an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
