Job Summary
The Managing Director leads Northland’s capital markets services, overseeing public offerings, PIPEs, registered direct offerings, and private placements. The role integrates equity sales, trading, and investment banking to deliver advanced solutions across client industries.
Responsibilities- Drive and execute sell‑side and buy‑side engagements, partnering with institutional sales, traders, and internal/external partners.
- Lead the preparation of documentation and marketing materials for financing transactions.
- Lead deal teams in the execution of public offerings, private placements, and PIPE transactions.
- Collaborate with investment bankers to ensure timely and effective transaction execution.
- Support new business development: identify and prioritize prospects, develop and deliver pitches, and participate at industry events.
- Mentor and develop junior team members through formal projects and informal coaching.
- Travel: 50%+ client travel required.
- Relevant industry experience in Consumer, Industrials, Media & Communications, Energy, Financials, Real Estate, Materials, or Utilities.
- Minimum five years in Investment Banking or Capital Markets, with at least one year at Director level or equivalent.
- Strong experience in executing financing transactions (sell‑side, buy‑side, debt).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong quantitative, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to a collaborative team environment.
- Full physical capability to sit, stand, lift up to 20lbs, and use office equipment.
- BA/BS degree required.
- FINRA SIE, 7, 63, and Series
79 license (or equivalent). - MBA highly desirable.
- Financial industry regulatory compliance and background checks required.
Work in a normal office setting or from home as needed. Employees must be able to sit, stand, bend, write, operate a computer, use a phone, and communicate effectively. The role requires at least 8hours per day with frequent use of office equipment.
Compensation and Benefits- Base salary starting at $200,000+; total compensation includes performance bonus, equity, and other incentives.
