Position Summary
The Director of Pharmacy Services is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of pharmacy operations across the hospital and Valley Health System. This role ensures safe, effective, and efficient delivery of services while aligning departmental goals with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership:
Anticipates departmental needs to establish short- and long-term goals; provides direction to staff for successful implementation and compliance. - Operational Oversight:
Integrates clinical, service, administrative, and educational functions of pharmacy services; coordinates with other hospital departments for operational efficiency. - Communication &
Collaboration:
Develops and maintains effective communication channels; participates in committees to foster departmental cohesion. - Financial Management:
Prepares and manages budgets; ensures optimal resource utilization across hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacies, specialty pharmacy, compounding pharmacy, PBM, and system-wide programs. - Program Oversight:
Supervises ASHP residency programs, FDU clinical program, pharmacy student rotations, and Meds-to-Beds initiatives. - Compliance & Standards:
Ensures adherence to federal/state regulations, Joint Commission standards, and professional practice guidelines; oversees policy development and reporting. - Innovation & Cost Savings:
Implements margin enhancement and cost-saving initiatives; manages pharmacy automation and software systems. - Supply Chain Management:
Oversees drug purchasing and system-wide distribution.
Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent experience, ASHP hospital residency or equivalent experience, New Jersey license.
Experience5 years of Pharmacy leadership for experience.
SkillsDemonstrated high level, state-of-the art clinical or operational expertise, demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
