Purpose of Job

To perform a variety of administrative duties to assist the Principal/Assistant Principal in managing the school; assume the Principal or Assistant Principal’s duties in their absence and as assigned. Provide on‑site direct support to staff and students in overall school operation, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment. Manage student discipline, foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, and oversee a wide range of tasks.

Duties / Major Accountabilities

  • Maintain a regular on‑site presence and support the school’s daily operations.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and supervision of academic and non‑academic school personnel.
  • Collaborate with school leadership for efficient facility and program operations.
  • Serve as an instructional leader by monitoring professional development and instructional implementation per the school improvement plan.
  • Implement and monitor metrics for behavioral expectations, attendance trends, and truancy interventions; address safety and welfare issues and comply with legal requirements.
  • Collect and analyze data from assessments and diagnostic instruments; develop intervention strategies focused on academic improvement.
  • Lead staff in intensive data analysis, results interpretation, and goal planning.
  • Comply with FERPA and other federal and state laws concerning privacy, confidentiality, and reporting.
  • Model a variety of rigorous instructional strategies.
  • Perform indirect supervision of employees, including instructional leadership, work assignment, interview, evaluation, discipline, and issue resolution.
  • Mentor new teachers and assist in their orientation.
  • Assist with parent conferences and related attendance or disciplinary matters.
  • Coordinate support services to ensure student progress toward graduation requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
