Campus Fiscal Manager Primary Responsibility
Under the direction of a designated campus administrator, actively participates in campus fiscal functions including accounts, fund, and budget management, ensuring compliance with all college fiscal principles and processes.
This position may serve as a lead to other campus team members and advise management on effective use of resources to maximize budgets.
QualificationsEducation and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position: e.g., a bachelor’s degree plus three years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. Supervisory experience may be beneficial.
Special skills: knowledge of GAAP, business office operations, budgeting, profit/loss statements, record‑keeping systems, quantitative/qualitative analysis; ability to organize and prioritize workload, meet deadlines, perform accurate calculations, use automated programs, and prepare financial reports and spreadsheets. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities are preferred.
Resident of Colorado or will obtain residency within 30 days of hire; must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
Compensation and BenefitsHiring range: $64,771.20 – $71,988.80 annually ($31.14 – $34.61 hourly) depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities Budget and Accounts Payable- Use college ERP software to record, store, maintain, and analyze financial information, assign revenues and expenditures, post records, and verify compliance with procedures and budget constraints.
- Prepare journal entries and correct errors; examine invoices and source documents for accuracy.
- Initiate requisitions for purchase orders, RFPs, and RFQs following purchasing guidelines.
- Provide responsive, high‑quality service to college employees and external agencies, offering accurate, up‑to‑date information in a courteous, efficient manner.
- Compile and analyze data for special and regular financial reports; summarize financial data and identify problem areas in quarterly budget spreadsheets.
- Advise campus leadership on effective resource usage, budgeting practices; coordinate and balance annual budget submissions from all departments; provide budget training campus‑wide.
- Act as the campus designated buyer, training staff on purchasing guidelines and ensuring compliance with certificates of insurance and CMC policy.
- Process payments and apply charges to student accounts; correct misapplied payments and verify refunds.
- Train staff on student account procedures; safeguard funds and reconcile cash‑receipt sessions.
- Monitor payment plans; review delinquent accounts and send collection letters for accounts 30/60/90 days past due.
- Coordinate action with business office holds and process exceptions for credit extensions per policy and dean’s approval.
- Provide responsive service to students and parents, maintaining financial aid knowledge.
- Handle confidential issues, exercise judgment, and maintain FERPA confidentiality requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Conditions of EmploymentSuccessful completion of a background check, including motor vehicle records, is required. Incumbents must adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing duties.
Working ConditionsWork requires continuous sitting, occasional walking, standing, driving, handling objects up to 50 lb., frequent written and oral communication, reasoning, calculation, and daily use of computer and standard office equipment; driving a vehicle may be required occasionally.
