Job SummaryAs a Courtesy Clerk, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a clean and organized store environment. Your role involves assisting customers with bagging groceries, retrieving carts, and maintaining cleanliness in the store. Join us in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for our customers to enjoy their shopping experience.
Examples of Duties- Greet customers with a friendly smile and offer assistance as needed.
- Bag groceries for customers, ensuring items are packed carefully and efficiently.
- Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and return them to the store.
- Assist customers with locating products and answering inquiries about store services.
- Maintain cleanliness in the store, including sweeping floors, wiping down surfaces, and emptying trash bins.
- Assist with stocking shelves and replenishing inventory as needed.
- Assist in maintaining order and safety in the store, including monitoring for spills and hazards.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to customer service and safety.
- Basic knowledge of grocery store layout and product locations.
- Familiarity with customer service principles and practices.
- Understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Customer Service:
Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with customers in a courteous and helpful manner. - Attention to Detail:
Ability to ensure accuracy in bagging groceries and maintaining cleanliness in the store. - Organization:

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and pushing carts.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and push/pull heavy carts.
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to assist others.
