Part‑time - Electrical Inspector and Plan ReviewerCurrent Idaho journeyman electrician or master electrician license in good standing prior to appointment.
- Not less than four years of actual experience as a journeyman electrician or master electrician, consistent with Idaho Code section 54-1019.
- Current electrical inspection and plan review certifications applicable to assigned residential and commercial work, or other certificates of competency, training, or qualifications required for lawful appointment or performance of electrical inspection services in Idaho.
- Thorough knowledge of the adopted edition of the National Electrical Code, Idaho electrical statutes and rules, Idaho Electrical Board rules, electrical installation methods, electrical safety practices, and local‑government permit and inspection procedures.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply electrical plans, construction drawings, specifications, load calculations, one‑line diagrams, manufacturer instructions, and related technical documents.
- Ability to prepare accurate written reports, correction notices, failed‑inspection notices, plan‑review comments, reinspection notes, and administrative records.
- Ability to exercise sound professional judgment, enforce codes fairly and consistently, and communicate code requirements in a clear, professional, and customer‑service‑oriented manner.
- Valid Idaho driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to travel throughout Jefferson County to conduct field inspections.
- Proficiency with computers, tablets, email, electronic records, and inspection or permitting software.
- Ability to pass any background check, driving‑record review, system‑access review, or other pre‑employment or access‑related screening required by County policy or law.
