Sanitation Worker (Janitor) - First Shift

Penske Logistics is looking for a sanitation worker (janitor) to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment.

Position Details:

• Sunday to Wednesday 5:00am-3:30pm
• $17.00 base rate + $2.00 differential only on Sundays

Job Responsibilities:

• Proficient in mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and vacuuming surfaces.
• Empties trash bins and cleans trash area daily; operates trash compactor when applicable.
• Pulls pallets and cleans/scrubs product bays on a rotating basis.
• Cleans up any spills or breakages to the inventoried product; recoup damages and determine if resalable or must be disposed of per food safety standards and requirements.
• Cleans other areas of the warehouse and offices, including break rooms, restrooms, offices, etc.
• Completes daily sanitation logs.
• Utilizes chemicals, detergents, and cleaning equipment.
• Operates scrubber and pallet jacks if required to perform duties.
• Identifies and addresses cleanliness and sanitation issues.
• Complies with all safety requirements.
• Escalates issues timely and directly to supervisor.
• Electronically scans products using a warehouse management system.
• Performs other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required.
• Ability to work independently, customer service orientation, multi-tasking, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers, and time management skills required.
• Flexible to work overtime preferred.
  
  Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required.
• Completes a Penske employment application, background investigation (past employment, education, criminal history), and drug screening required.

Additional Requirements: This position is designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
