Safety Director – Multi-Site Manufacturing

Location: Rincon, Georgia (Primary Base)

Travel: ~25–40% domestic plant travel as needed

Reports To: VP Operations

Position Summary

The Safety Director is responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) strategy across multiple Virginia Transformer manufacturing facilities, with primary office location in Rincon, GA
. This role drives enterprise safety culture, regulatory compliance, incident prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with plant leadership, engineering, maintenance, and HR teams.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, plant-credible safety leader with experience in heavy manufacturing, electrical equipment, or industrial environments
, capable of influencing leaders at all levels and standardizing safety excellence across geographically dispersed operations.

Key Responsibilities Enterprise Safety Leadership
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine multi-site safety policies, procedures, and standards aligned with OSHA, EPA (as applicable), and state regulations.
  • Serve as the senior authority on occupational safety, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance across all U.S. plant locations.
  • Establish and promote a consistent safety culture rooted in accountability, ownership, and proactive hazard identification.
  • Partner with executive leadership to embed safety into operational strategy and performance metrics.
Multi-Site Operational Oversight
  • Provide functional leadership and direction to plant-level Safety Managers/Coordinators.
  • Conduct regular site audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments to ensure alignment with corporate safety standards.
  • Identify systemic risks, trend data, and implement corrective and preventive actions across facilities.
  • Support safe commissioning of new equipment, facility expansions, and process changes.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, workers’ compensation requirements, and relevant environmental and local regulations.
  • Lead regulatory inspections, agency interactions, and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain standardized documentation practices including OSHA 300 logs, incident reports, training records, and audit results.
  • Oversee contractor and visitor safety programs across plants.
  • Lead investigations of serious incidents, near misses, and recordable injuries.
  • Drive root cause analysis methodologies and ensure sustainable corrective actions.
  • Track and report safety metrics including TRIR, DART, lost-time incidents, and leading indicators.
  • Present safety performance and improvement plans to executive leadership.
