Position Overview

The Final Assembly Manager is responsible for leading all final assembly operations within the plant, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality assembly of medium and large power transformers.

This role oversees production execution, workforce leadership, quality performance, schedule attainment, and continuous improvement initiatives within final assembly operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong transformer manufacturing experience, operational leadership, and a hands‑on approach to driving production performance and team accountability.

This is a highly visible onsite leadership role requiring close coordination with engineering, quality, planning, logistics, and plant leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities Lead Final Assembly Operations
  • Lead and manage final assembly teams to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently achieved
  • Oversee assembly operations including:
  • Mechanical component installation
  • Electrical wiring and connections
  • Final transformer assembly and testing preparation
  • Monitor daily production activities and ensure timely completion of work orders
  • Allocate labor and resources effectively to meet changing production priorities
Quality & Production Excellence
  • Ensure all assembled transformers meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and quality standards
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve non‑conformance issues and drive corrective actions
  • Reduce assembly defects, rework, and production inefficiencies through process discipline and continuous improvement
  • Support final inspection and testing readiness to ensure successful customer deliveries
Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Coordinate closely with Production Planning and Operations teams to prioritize workflow and maintain schedule adherence
  • Monitor bottlenecks and proactively adjust staffing, materials, and resources to support delivery targets
  • Drive accountability for on‑time completion of final assembly milestones
  • Identify and implement process improvements focused on:
  • Throughput improvement
  • Labor optimization
  • Develop, improve, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for final assembly operations
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing principles and operational excellence initiatives throughout the department
  • Train, mentor, and develop supervisors, leads, and assembly personnel
  • Build a high‑performance, accountability‑driven culture focused on safety, quality, and execution
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and development opportunities
  • Support workforce planning, hiring, and succession planning initiatives
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout final assembly operations
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • OSHA standards
  • Company safety procedures
  • Manufacturing and quality requirements
