Operation Coordinator

DRT America, LLC, a subsidiary of DSM‑Firmenich, is currently seeking an Operations Coordinator to help promote and drive change at our Rincon, Georgia facility. The candidate will report to the Production Manager and assist with new hire training and development, develop energy isolation procedures and site‑specific SOPs, assist with production‑related AP tasks and provide rotating shift PTO coverage for supervisors in an emergency.
The role will cultivate a positive safety culture, mentor new hires, and lead by example.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain training materials for new hire production employees. Facilitate new hire training in production, laboratory, process areas, and control room for subject areas. Train employees on established SOPs to ensure procedures are followed as intended.
- Proactively work to improve other operations employees as deficiencies are identified. Facilitate completion of operator qualification through training, coaching, and formal qualification testing.
- Develop, maintain, and update energy isolation (LOTO) procedures for all major pieces of production equipment. Develop, maintain, and update Task Based Risk Assessments (TBRA) for routine and non‑routine operations tasks.
- Participate in the facility process safety management (PSM) program for Change Management (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Incident Investigations, and other elements as requested.
- Perform production‑related activities as requested, such as operator functions, supervisor relief, and adherence to the production schedule, site environmental, health and safety policies, quality, and efficiency targets. Promote safe operation of the Rincon facility and timely reporting of challenges to facility management.
- Provide relief coverage for operator PTO and shift openings, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays, for up to 16 hours/day on a rotating shift as required. Assist in the procurement of production‑related supplies by generating purchase orders and closing after receipt of goods.

- High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 5+ years’ experience in chemical manufacturing/distillation. Prefer 2+ years of training/mentoring experience.
- Must possess a high level of integrity as well as excellent organizational, computer, and analytical skills.
- Computer proficiency in all MS Office Software Applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
- Self‑motivated, self‑starting team‑player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
- Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment with proven time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with various departments. Formidable team‑building skills and ability to make decisions based on known data.
Salary range: $75,000‑$85,000.
