Machine Operator

Location:

Pay Range: $19-$21

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate high-speed packaging machinery according to established procedures and production schedules.
  • Perform equipment setup, changeovers, adjustments, and startup activities to support production requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production runs.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and coordinate with maintenance personnel for complex repairs.
  • Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate production records, downtime reports, and quality documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety, GMP, HACCP, and company policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safely handle packaging materials, finished goods, and production supplies.
  • Collaborate with team members, quality personnel, and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
  • Assist in training new operators as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience operating packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience working with high-speed automated production lines.
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand production documents, work instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in food, beverage, consumer goods, pharmaceutical, or industrial packaging operations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts as required.
