Job Summary Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Physician Practices and the Provider for clinical issues only, EFM Certified Medical Assistant will provide direct and indirect patient care in an office setting in accordance with TJC, federal, state, and local guidelines, organizational, and departmental policies, and procedures. Will communicate with medical staff, other departments, and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality.
The position requires self-motivation, creativity, and capabilities to function in a semi‑autonomous role within a fast pace and dynamic environment.
Standards of Performance
Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand women's healthcare requirements.Mindful and considerate of the factors surrounding conditions of female intimate health, including, but not limited to urinary and fecal incontinence, sexual health and trauma, genital infections, pre‑cancerous and cancerous conditions, pelvic pain.Promotes patient's independence through teaching (with provider instruction) about conditions, medications, self‑care skills and answering questions.Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following practice and nursing standards of care set by federal, state, and governing agency regulations.Collaborates with the physician to resolve patient problems and needs utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.Maintains a safe, clean, and organized working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, calling for assistance from health care support personnel.Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Maximizes practice efficiency and patient flow through proactive communication with the physician, utilization of support staff, multi‑tasking, and planning.Must obtain and maintain sufficient Gynecologic and Female Urologic body of knowledge to include office‑based procedures.Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.Maintains nursing and physician supply inventory by checking stock and anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by…
