Job Objectives

  • Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
  • Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Job Responsibilities / Tasks Customer Experience
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
Operations
  • Learn from store, pharmacy, district manager, competitors, and customers/patients.
  • Engage in a kick‑off and day‑of‑service activity.
  • Register all related sales on the assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
  • Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and in reverse logistics (e.g., 1506, returns, empty package).
  • Analyze inventory trends and supervise inventory management, including ordering items, keeping stock, and liquidating stock while leveraging company resources to avoid outs and overstock.
  • Assist manager or assistant store manager in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions.
  • Engage in weekly meetings with store manager or pharmacy manager.
  • Handle basic department pricing and daily price changes; ensure proper signage supports accurate pricing of products and that any additional pricing tasks related to local regulations or regulatory compliance programs are completed accurately and within required time frames.
  • Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to maintain a clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance; request repairs as required in manager absence or at manager’s request.
  • Assist with separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre‑cooked) and product placement as specified by policies or procedures (e.g., raw and frozen meats on bottom shelves). For consumable items, help with stock rotation using first‑in, first‑out method and restock outs.
  • Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
  • Receive exposure to the analysis of financial and performance data for the store, pharmacy, and clinic as well as analysis of asset protection data and action plans to reduce loss.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
  • Work as a group to complete the Intern Team Challenge and present to area, district, and store leaders.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Complete evaluation of the internship program upon completion.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
  • Attend training and complete e‑learnings and special assignments requested by manager.
  • Shadow district leader for the specified time.
Communications
  • Report customer complaints to management.
  • Assist store manager in planning and attending community events.
Basic Qualifications
  • Be a student in the beginning or completing senior year toward a bachelor’s degree.
  • Be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.

Salary and Benefits

This information is being provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities at Walgreens.

The current salary range for this position is $17.00 per hour - $19.50 per hour.

The actual hourly salary within this range that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors.
