Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
Georgia-Pacific is seeking Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians for our Rincon, GA facility. Our E&I Techs perform preventative and corrective maintenance that increases uptime and reliability and supports production and quality goals.
The facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year. E&I Techs work a 12‑hour rotating schedule that includes holidays, weekends, and overtime. The schedule provides 14 days off every 4‑week period. This position offers development opportunities and growth within the company. Pay is commensurate with experience.
Our Savannah River Mill began operations in October 1986 and is a world‑class operation. Five of the world’s 12 largest tissue paper machines are located here. The plant produces products primarily from recycled fiber, using over 50 converting lines for tissue, towel, and napkin products. - Share knowledge with other technicians for maintaining and troubleshooting PLCs, instrumentation, and controls
- Troubleshoot and install equipment at the component level, ensuring compliance with state, company plant codes, policies, and procedures
- Work on motors, pneumatic components, conveyor systems, and production machines
- Participate in project planning support and new equipment installation
- Two‑year technical degree/certificate or a minimum of three (3) years of industrial experience in the electrical and/or instrumentation field
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electrical components
- Experience working with variable frequency drives and servo drives
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Experience with systems integration, including PLCs such as RSLogix and RSLinx, HMI, DCS, networking, communication, and power distribution
- Experience reading technical drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics
- Experience working with the National Electrical Code and compliance with the code
- Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
- Experience working with and troubleshooting electrical systems that use 24 V, 120 V, 480 V, 4160 V, 13.8 kV, single and three‑phase power
