Junior / Assistant Estimator
This position is responsible for reporting to a Senior Estimator and assisting in many aspects of the estimating process, including material takeoffs, labor estimation, obtaining quotes, and data entry.
Areas Of Responsibility- Report to a senior estimator
- Obtain quotes from specified vendors in a timely manner
- Perform material takeoffs
- Read construction plans
- Organize quotes
- Compare vendor and subcontractor scopes
- Persistently follow up with vendors to ensure timely bid preparation
- Attend pre‑bid meetings, bid openings, and site walkthroughs
- Excellent communication via in‑person, phone, email, and other digital methods
- Motivation and willingness to learn our estimating method
- Detail‑oriented
- Excellent time management skills
- Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Written and spoken fluent English
- Engineering or construction background
- Experience in estimating is a plus
- Experience in the water/wastewater sector is a plus
