Payroll Specalist Job Description

Experience: Mid Level

Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year

• Process weekly and biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions
• Manage multi-state payroll compliance, including tax with holdings
• Handle certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting (if applicable)
• Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy in systems
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams on employee changes and reporting
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner

• 2+ years of payroll experience, ideally within construction or a similar industry
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing
• Familiarity with certified payroll and/or prevailing wage is a plus
• Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, or similar
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
