Finance Department Position
This job posting is for the school year. The contract is for 240 days.
Minimum qualifications required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- 3-5 years related experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Associates degree or two years of college-level classes;
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint;
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Flexibility, organization, decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to sustain high work standards and high levels of competency in all related office skills.
Essential job responsibilities:
- Assist with the development, maintenance, and monitoring of Medicaid and other special revenue funds.
- Assist with state and federal financial reporting and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Prepare financial reports and analyses using the district's financial management system and other software applications.
- Assist with the preparation of audit documentation and responses to audit requests.
- Assist with year-end financial closing activities and other fiscal reporting requirements.
- Maintain general financial records and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive, confidential, and privileged information.
- Utilize sound judgment and decision-making skills to independently perform assigned duties with accuracy and limited supervision.
- Maintain organized financial records and filing systems.
- Comply with administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Meet deadlines and work on multiple projects.
- Maintain professional relationships and work cooperatively with employees, administrators, the community, and other professionals.
- Maintain professional competence through district training, in-service activities, and professional growth opportunities.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in training related to assigned responsibilities.
- Crosstrain to assist and relieve, when needed, other assigned areas of responsibility.
- Comply with administrative directives, Board policies, the RRPS Employee Standards of Conduct, the New Mexico Administrative Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform other tasks related to area of responsibilities as requested or assigned by the supervisor.
Work hours will be in accordance with hours determined by the school district and the individual schools.
