As an Electrical BIM Designer
, you will be engaged in design documentation while being responsible for the set‑up and management of Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members. Working under the direction of electrical discipline or project leads, this position offers an opportunity to showcase your Revit expertise while staying in accordance with Jacobs and client BIM standards. Using a mixture of Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD software platforms, you will create and manage content toward fully coordinated 3‑D models across all design disciplines (C, S, A, M, E, P, T, I, L) as well as create 2‑D construction drawings.
You will collaborate with designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers on the same Jacobs design team, using the Jacobs design methods in conjunction with your keen eye for detail and established BIM skills to turn the design intent of our senior electrical design staff into constructable deliverables—including clash‑free 3‑D models.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- At least 3 years of BIM design experience
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry
- A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions
- A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function
- Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment
- Experience following client design and modeling standards
- Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark‑ups and/or verbal direction requests
- Willingness to learn new things
- At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience
- Understanding of data center environments
- Knowledge and design experience with power, cable routing, and lighting systems
- Knowledge of electrical systems and one‑line diagrams

The base salary range for this position is $66,000.00 to $90,800.00; though paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
