Overview
The Regional Water Resources Leader is responsible for developing, growing, and leading the NM region Water Resources practice. This senior-level role combines technical expertise in water resources engineering with practice-building, team leadership, and client development. The leader will represent the firm to clients, partners, and industry organizations while ensuring excellence in project delivery and strategic growth. This is a full-time position paid on a salary basis.
Responsibilities- Develop, grow, and lead the Central Texas Water Resources practice, building expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, conveyance, storage, groundwater, and water/wastewater treatment
- Partner with Parkhill's Marketing and Business Development teams to create and execute a regional business development plan aligned with the Civil Engineering Division strategy
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with clients, partners, and industry leaders
- Represent the firm as a technical expert in client meetings, interviews, and industry forums
- Collaborate across office locations to leverage Parkhill's collective water resources expertise
- Mentor staff, ensuring consistent application of Parkhill's keystone habits and technical excellence
- Serve as Senior Project Manager or Project Principal on major water resources projects, providing technical oversight
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
- Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in Texas
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Water Resources and/or water/wastewater treatment
- Detailed understanding of engineering project management methods with the ability to plan a project from start to finish, considering time, cost, and resources
- Experience working with state, regional, and public agencies – municipalities, water districts, river authorities, counties, and/or state agencies
- Expert level knowledge of environmental regulations and workplace safety regulations
- Proven success in practice growth, client development, and business acquisition
- Strong technical expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, water/wastewater, and related civil engineering solutions
- Excellent analytical skills to evaluate observations and design a system that will withstand the elements on the installation site
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
