Mid-Level Engineer; Electrical​/I&C​/Integrity

Position: Mid-Level Engineer (Electrical/I&C/Integrity)
SNI Technology's client located in Rio Rancho, NM is actively seeking to hire a talented Mid-Level Engineer (Electrical/I&C/Integrity) for an exciting 4-5-month, contract-to-hire opportunity! Please note this position is intended to work primarily onsite (4-5days/week) and will require travel 20% of the time. Must have valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. This position has the option to work onsite in either Colorado Springs, CO or Albuquerque, NM office locations.

Summary

The Engineer is the primary technical point of contact for all project deliverables. The Engineer's responsibilities include developing project objectives, writing specifications, performing calculations, reviewing and selecting equipment, and supporting the creation of drawings. They will interact with all team members to perform work correctly and promptly along with promoting professional development. They will also actively manage their time to maintain efficient, effective, and accurate production within their projects.

Also, the Engineer will have strong communication skills and be able to accomplish the results of the project at hand.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Actively engage in professional development.

• Actively participate in QA/QC to ensure consistency within the department.
• Work with Project teams to ensure project deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
• Clearly convey design philosophies, expectations, and timeline.
• Coordinate regulatory, permitting, survey, and third-party construction efforts.
• Specify all engineered equipment and specialty items.
• Perform calculations to evaluate proposed designs.
• Evaluate design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
• Communicate design changes with key project team members.
• Understand and apply standard engineering principles.
• Treat all company information and customer information confidentially.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

• Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience - 5 years is preferred level of experience
• ABET accredited Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering
• EIT certificate a plus
• Must have expertise in Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), or Integrity disciplines.
• Competent in arc flash, short circuit and relay setting studies using SKM or ETAP software
• Experience in generating the following deliverables:
  • Load list
  • One-line diagrams
  • Power cable/conduit schedules
  • Conduit/cable tray plans and details
  • Grounding plans and details
  • Area classification plans and details
  • Lighting plans and details
  • Panel schedules
  • Heat trace plan and details
  • Cathodic protection plan and details
  • E-House layout
  • E-house /PDC specifications
  • Motor control schematics
  • Electrical equipment specifications and data sheets (MCC, UPS, transformers, etc.)
  • Lightning protection plans and details
  • Electrical rack drawings Familiarity with NEC, NEMA, IEEE, and API 500 and how they apply to the oil and gas industry

Work Hours:

• Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and occasional nights and weekends.
• Overtime is occasionally required and expected, often on short notice.

Work Location

• 50% to 80% in office
• 20% up to 50% travel as needed

Compensation Range
The compensation for this position is in the range of $38 to $55 per hour during the 4-5-month contract duration of the assignment with a starting annual salary range of $80K to $110K upon converting to permanent.
