Color Broadcaster Job Summary

The Color Broadcaster provides analysis, insight, and commentary as part of New Mexico Goatheads game broadcasts. This position works alongside the Play-by-Play Broadcaster to provide context, breakdown game action, explain strategy, highlight player performance, and contribute to an informative and entertaining broadcast. The Color Broadcaster will also participate in pregame, intermission, and postgame segments as assigned. The ideal candidate possesses strong hockey knowledge, clear communication skills, and the ability to translate game situations into engaging analysis for listeners and viewers

• Provide live analysis and commentary during assigned New Mexico Goatheads game broadcasts.
• Break down plays, strategy, player performance, and key moments throughout the game.
• Work collaboratively with the Play-by-Play Broadcaster to maintain a natural and professional broadcast flow.
• Research teams, players, statistics, trends, and storylines prior to broadcasts.
• Participate in pregame, intermission, and postgame segments as assigned.
• Conduct or participate in player, coach, and guest interviews when needed.
• Assist with sponsorship reads, promotional elements, and other broadcast features.
• Maintain awareness of game action and provide relevant analysis without interrupting play-by-play coverage.
• Participate in production meetings and pregame broadcast preparation.
• Represent the New Mexico Goatheads and REV Entertainment professionally during broadcasts and appearances.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Previous sports broadcasting, coaching, playing, analysis, or media experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hockey rules, systems, strategy, terminology, and player development.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to explain complex game situations clearly and concisely.
• Strong preparation and research skills.
• Comfortable speaking live for extended periods.
• Ability to develop strong on-air chemistry with the Play-by-Play Broadcaster.
• Previous interview or on-camera experience preferred.
• Ability to remain professional and adaptable during live broadcasts.
• Reliable and punctual with the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as required by the New Mexico Goatheads schedule.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate continuously; remain seated or in a stationary broadcast position for extended periods; operate computers, broadcast equipment, headsets, and communications systems; and move through broadcast and arena work areas as necessary.
• Position may require transporting or positioning broadcast equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be comfortable working in loud, fast-paced arena and broadcast environments.
• Position may require travel and extended workdays based on the game schedule.
• Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
