Position Summary: Work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients. Provide clinical leadership for other staff and assumes relief charge duties when designated. Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.

Shift: Days
Compensation: $34.84/hr – $47.33/hr (depending on experience, education, and other factors). Sign‑on bonus available. Relocation assistance available. Shift differentials: 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, 15% for weekend day shifts.
Detailed Responsibilities:- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required.
- Work within hospital, nursing division, and departmental policies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent.
- Participate in orientation; upon successful completion of preceptor training assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients.
- Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information.
- Answer telephones and triage calls as per departmental policy.
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards.
- Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in‑services, meetings, and workshops.
- Follow patient safety‑related policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Seek opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning current policies and processes.
- Identify and report/correct environmental conditions that may put a patient at undue risk.
- Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and/or near misses in a timely manner.
- Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting issues.
Education: Program graduate (essential). Bachelor’s degree (nonessential). Nationally accredited nursing graduate (essential). Nursing specialization (nonessential).
Experience: No minimum experience required.
Credentials: CPR for Healthcare/BLS provider or professional rescuer within 30 days; RN license in NM or reciprocal agreement (essential). Nationally certified in area of specialty (nonessential).
Physical Conditions: Heavy work:
Exerting 50–100 lbs occasionally, 25–50 lbs frequently, 10–20 lbs constantly. Significant hazard: chemicals, biohazardous materials require PPE.
