IT Support, Systems Administrator, Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations
The Manager, IT at Automox runs and does the work of IT Operations. You will lead a small team, but you are expected to own meaningful technical scope yourself across endpoints, identity, and SaaS. You report directly to the CTO and partner closely with Dev Ops, Security, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales. You will be a daily power user of Automox and a primary internal feedback loop to Product and Engineering.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Operate as a player‑coach. Carry your own queue of endpoint, identity, and SaaS work alongside the team.
- Own endpoint management end to end across macOS and Windows. Drive MDM enrollment, configuration, patch compliance through Automox, hardware lifecycle, and zero‑touch provisioning.
- Own identity and access in Okta. Lifecycle provisioning and deprovisioning, group design, MFA enrollment and recovery, and access reviews on the cadence Security requires.
- Own SaaS administration across the company’s stack including Google Workspace, Git Hub, 1
Password, AWS account‑level access, and the long tail of business SaaS. License rationalization is a continuous responsibility, not a yearly fire drill. - Mentor IT Engineers and Helpdesk through code review of scripts and Worklets, on‑call coverage, and structured 1:1s.
- Set and track team KPIs covering ticket responsiveness, patch and MDM coverage, access review completion, and IT spend efficiency.
- Be a power user of Automox. File issues, request features, and serve as an internal feedback channel to Product and Engineering.
- 5+ years of hands‑on IT engineering in a SaaS or tech company, with at least 2 years leading a team.
- Current operating experience with Okta (or equivalent IdP), Google Workspace, Git Hub org administration, AWS IAM, and modern MDM for macOS and Windows.
- Scripting fluency in Power Shell and bash. Python or Type Script is a plus. You can read, review, and write automation that runs in production.
- A track record of automating manual work and shrinking ticket backlogs, not just managing them.
- Comfort being the technical escalation point and the one who picks up the keyboard when the team is stuck.
