The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, food procurement, and program implementation of St. Felix Pantry in accordance within established organizational policies and procedures. This position is granted the authority and responsibility necessary to ensure efficient, safe, and mission-aligned operations.

The Director of Operations reports directly to the President and CEO and coordinates all Pantry activities while upholding the vision, mission, values of St. Felix Pantry, and the Core Values of the Felician Sisters Sponsored Ministries.

Since 1992, St. Felix Pantry has been a safety net for people struggling to support their families in the times of need.

Essential Job Functions Pantry Operations & Program Management
  • Provide overall supervision of operations staff, truck drivers, volunteers, and community service workers
  • Oversee and coordinate all Pantry programs, including the Mobile Food Pantry, Snack Pack Program, and other designated initiatives
  • Manage, train, and coach staff, volunteers, and community service workers on acceptable conduct in alignment with the Felician Core Values, in consultation with the Mission Integration leader
  • Ensure compliance with all St. Felix Pantry policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Maintain Pantry facilities in a safe, clean, organized, and efficient manner daily
  • Organize Pantry layout and workflows to maximize efficiency and safety
  • Oversee food inventory, including scheduling, receiving, storage, distribution, and tracking of donated food and shipments from major donors
  • Oversee the entire food chain-sourcing, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Maintain inventory of operational supplies and disposables
  • Review daily schedules and assign staff, volunteers, and community service workers to meet operational needs
  • Monitor employee work hours prior to payroll and authorize overtime in consultation with the President and CEO
  • Collaborate with the designated Safety Manager to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including licensing, fire inspections, and safety plans
  • Ensure food safety, handling, customer service, and operational procedures for all personnel
  • Communicate daily distribution priorities and available inventory to staff, volunteers, and community service workers
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed and maintained for operations staff, truck drivers, volunteers, and community service workers
  • Make written recommendations to the President and CEO regarding operational efficiency, program growth, and strategic improvements
  • Participate in strategic planning and provide input into the annual budget process
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to the development and review/reviseof Pantry policies and procedures
  • Maintain and keep Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety Operations updated
  • Represent and support St. Felix Pantry at community events, outreach initiatives, food drives, and fundraising activities as directed by the President and CEO
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with food suppliers, donors, merchandisers, courts, and community partners to support Pantry growth and access to resources
  • Responsible for fleet maintenance and safety.

  • Box truck driving experience a plus
Education

Associates degree and five (5) years relevant experience preferred

Travel Requirements

Travel to Felician-sponsored Ministries as necessary.

This job operates in both a professional office and warehouse environment.

This position uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc. as well as warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.

Physical Demands

This position requires both managerial and hands-on work.

The position requires being able to lift 50 lbs.
