This onsite role manages and maintains wafer sort toolsets in a high‑volume manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include ensuring tool availability, performance, safety, cleanliness, and process quality while supporting tool installation, upgrades, and qualification. The engineer drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet factory goals in safety, quality, cost, output, cycle time, and defect reduction.
Responsibilities- Keep wafer sort tools running efficiently and defect‑free.
- Meet availability and performance targets for each tool.
- Support new tool installations, upgrades, and qualifications.
- Drive continuous improvement of tool performance and reliability.
- Help achieve factory goals for safety, quality, cost, output, cycle time, and defect reduction.
- Support process development at the module level.
- Own and optimize high‑volume manufacturing equipment and processes for maximum performance.
- Execute comprehensive testing and measurement protocols on critical dimensions and defectivity.
- Lead process development initiatives for advanced manufacturing nodes and oversee equipment qualification.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and equipment suppliers to resolve technical challenges.
- Implement excursion prevention systems and proactively address process discrepancies.
- Participate in technology transfer activities, including training and audit across manufacturing sites.
- Own new product introduction while meeting key deadlines and milestones and troubleshooting novel challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer, Mechatronics, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry or other STEM‑related field.
- 2+ years in manufacturing process control, equipment engineering, or related fields (with a bachelor’s degree); or 1+ year with a master’s degree.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies, including Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.
- Hands‑on experience in manufacturing process improvement, problem‑solving, and excursion management.
- Technical knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment.
- 4+ years in semiconductor environments, particularly in process analytical metrology and development.
- Familiarity with statistics and experimental design for tool matching, qualification, and process optimization.
- Understanding of semiconductor process flows (logic or memory preferred) and metrology‑based assessments.
- Proven ability to lead projects or task forces from problem identification to resolution.
- Annual salary range: $89,010.00–$ USD.
