Position Purpose
The Night Shift Nurse (RN/LPN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a calm overnight environment. This position provides hands‑on nursing care, supports resident safety and comfort, and collaborates with the care team to ensure continuity of care throughout the night.
Responsibilities- Provide total nursing care to residents on the assigned unit during the night shift.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing standards.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations.
- Communicate care plans, procedures, and treatments clearly to residents and families.
- Accurately transcribe and implement physician orders.
- Document care and resident responses thoroughly and timely.
- Give and receive detailed shift reports to ensure continuity of care.
- Conduct routine rounds to monitor resident comfort, safety, and condition.
- Supervise and support CNAs, ensuring accurate daily documentation.
- Coordinate care with therapists to support 24‑hour rehabilitation needs.
- Record diet changes and communicate updates to the Dietary Department.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, in‑services, and staff meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited RN or LPN nursing program.
- Active RN/LPN state license in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience (or equivalent).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to professionalism and compassionate care.
