Wound Care Nurse; RN

Position: Wound Care Nurse (RN)
Our company is looking for a Temporary Wound Care Nurse (RN) to join our team. Responsibilities:
* Complete MDS documentation for Skin Condition (Section M) for all facility residents.
* Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing and other clinical education programs.
* Attend staff meetings, in-service classes, and committee meetings.
* Participate in weekly wound team rounds.
* Establishes competencies for clinicians regarding wound care.
* Collaborates with other members of the Education Department on joint educational initiatives.
* Collaborate amongst Interdisciplinary Team to encompass all aspects of care to promote wound healing.
* Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for each assigned resident.
* Participate in the development and achievement of Wound Care Program and objectives.
* Perform all other duties as requested.
* Communicate in a positive, caring, and helpful manner with residents, family members, and other staff.
* Develops educational modules for wound care to be used for internal and external education, including teaching tools for patients and families.
* Respect the dignity of each person. Requirements:
* Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently and 10 pounds constantly.
* Ability to work and stand 80% of an 8-to-12-hour shift.
* Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
* Excellent presentation skills and organizational skills required.
* WCC certification, CWCN, CWOCN or CWS is preferred or certification pending within one year.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment.
* Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Confers with the Director of Nursing and/or other licensed nursing personnel regarding dermatologic disorders of residents in the facility. *

Valid State RN License required. Previous geriatric nursing experience preferred
* Current RN license required.
