Oncology RNs works with patients who have, or who are at risk of getting, cancer. Oncology Nurses provide necessary assessments, administer treatments and communicate with all patient care providers to help develop a plan tailored to each patient's needs.

ResponsibilitiesOncology Nurses are responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients and will be responsible for prioritizing the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently integrating a standards-based framework model.
Other responsibilities include:
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, managing symptoms and side effects.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, side effects, and self-care.
- Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- 1-year Bedside experience preferred.
- BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire.
