Summary

Presbyterian Rust Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Oncology RN to provide direct patient care for patients with or at risk for cancer. The role welcomes new graduates and experienced RNs, offering a mandatory residency program for new graduates.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care.
  • Prioritize delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently while integrating a standards‑based framework model.
  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments.
  • Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, managing symptoms and side effects.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, side effects, and self‑care.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Qualifications
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • 1‑year bedside experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required at time of hire.
