Licensed Practical Nurse; LPN - Nights

Position

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Full time, 3–12 hour night shifts per week with rotating weekends.

Responsible for providing general nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with physicians’ orders and established standards and protocols.

• Implement orders for medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and within the nursing care plan written by the Registered Nurse.
• Participate in evaluating the effectiveness of interventions relative to patient responses and seek guidance when necessary.
• Assist in identifying patients’ learning needs and reinforce self‑care and other techniques.
• Report to supervisor on patient care rendered, patient problems, and resolutions, and designate applicable charges.
• Help identify patient problems and potential risks and contribute to the development of interventions.
• Provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Assess risks for safety and implement appropriate precautions.
• Comply with approved safety and infection prevention standards.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an inpatient hospital setting (inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred).
• Current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current CPR certification.
