Travel Nurse Source is working with Health Advocates Network to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Taos, New Mexico, 87571. Health Advocates Network is seeking a Registered Nurse ASCU/PACU to work at a facility in Taos, NM. These are registry positions with our company.

The Registered Nurse is required to be clinically competent. By utilizing the nursing process of assessment of the individual patient and procedure, the nurse anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides services while maintaining a safe environment. The nurse addresses psychosocial and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment, monitors patient’s physiological status in the pre‑operative and immediate post‑operative environment, and intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis.
The nurse communicates with surgeon and anesthetist continuously and as needed about patient conditions and receives direction for patient management. Position requires the individual to assume on‑call duty on a rotating basis. Call required to cover evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Graduate from an accredited school or college of nursing.
- Current New Mexico license as a Registered Nurse.
- BCLS, ACLS and PALS certification.
- Minimum of one year of comparable experience (Critical Care experience preferred).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- At least one year (12 months) of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Able to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of NM.
- A valid and current BLS card (American Heart Association).
- Provides general nursing care to patients.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
- Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients.
- Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
- May make beds, bathe, and feed patients.
- May serve as leader for group of personnel rendering nursing care to number of patients.
- Additional RN duties given by Supervisor.
