Operating Room Registered Nurse

Seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in the Operating Room. The position involves working in a community-based hospital setting. The role requires experience in various surgical procedures, including ambulatory, general, laparoscopic, and orthopedic surgeries. Candidates should be familiar with specific procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, total joint replacement, and more. This is a fast-paced environment requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with surgical teams.

Weekend shifts are required, typically covering a 24-hour period from 0700 to 0700. The facility emphasizes a commitment to patient safety and quality care through established protocols and procedures. Strong attention to detail and adherence to surgical protocols are essential. This role will not require floating within the scope to meet facility needs. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of universal protocol and specimen handling and labeling.

Patient care focuses on diverse age groups, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

Experience:

2 years minimum required License:
New Mexico license can be pending at the time of submission

Certifications:

BLS, ACLS Must-Have: COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with completion of a COVID exemption form signed by a provider for medical exemptions. Patient ratio experience: 1:1 in the operating room. Call requirement: 6 days in the 6-week schedule, including at least 2 weekend shifts.
