Overview

Five Below is seeking part-time Sales Associates focused on delivering outstanding customer service, driving sales, and maintaining organized, well-stocked floors. This role emphasizes the ability to engage customers, perform checkout duties, and support store operations while providing a positive shopping experience.

• Greet and assist customers promptly:
  Approach and acknowledge customers, provide assistance, and handle multiple customers efficiently.
• Understand and meet customer needs:
  Share product knowledge, answer questions, direct customers to merchandise, and offer recommendations. Engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.
• Promote store events and promotions:
  Inform customers about current store events and promotions to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales.
• Resolve customer concerns:
  Address issues using product knowledge to offer alternatives, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.
• Communicate needs to management:
  Inform management about merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback in a timely manner.
• Support team and company goals:
  Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives and maintain a positive work environment.

• At least 16 years old
• Available to work a flexible schedule
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (such as cash registers, handheld and mobile devices)
• Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers
• Able to handle customer interactions courteously and professionally
• Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training

• Frequently operate cash register
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to 5-10 feet high
• Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and stock merchandise
• Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in stockroom and on sales floor
• Frequently communicate with customers, managers, and coworkers in person or by phone
• Move across the sales floor to assist customers and manage stock room transfers
• Flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts and travel as required
• Identify and discern email and printed instructions regarding merchandise layouts and standard operating procedures
• Remain in a stationary, upright position for up to 80% of the time
