We are seeking an experienced Waste Facilities Operations & Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and preservation of wastewater systems in a mission‑critical environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants, chemical treatment systems, and filtration systems. This role ensures reliability, safety, and compliance with environmental and client standards while maintaining readiness of all waste systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on operating waste treatment equipment in accordance with client guidelines and procedures.
  • Create, maintain, and upload documentation for equipment entering the client’s operational system.
  • Conduct preservation activities on non‑operating wastewater equipment to maintain system readiness and integrity.
  • Perform safe state verification and complete sign‑off for non‑operating equipment.
  • Escalate vendor‑required preservation activities to FCE/FFO teams to coordinate site visits.
  • Partner with central engineers to resolve escalations and review equipment preservation checklists.
  • Respond promptly to equipment shutdowns, alarms, or abnormal conditions; elevate issues to central engineers when necessary.
  • Conduct facility rounds and record readings on non‑automated equipment and waste systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, logs, and system performance data.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
Skills Required:
  • 2–3 years’ hands‑on experience operating and maintaining wastewater systems in a mission‑critical facility.
  • Experience with wastewater treatment plants, chemical treatment systems, and filtration systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and elevate issues with waste systems effectively.
  • Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety standards in mission‑critical facilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, vendors, and operations staff.
  • Attention to detail with accurate documentation and monitoring of system performance.
  • Ability to remain proactive and responsive in fast‑paced, high‑stakes environments.
Education / Licenses / Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Mechanical, or related field preferred, but not required.
