Position Summary
The Category Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Sales and Marketing teams at NuCal Foods and its affiliated companies. This individual collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Accounting, and Regulatory teams to provide data-driven insights and support business growth.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. This role requires leveraging both internal and external data sources, while also supporting packaging initiatives, regulatory compliance, and marketing development efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Support the sales team in establishing NuCal Foods as a recognized knowledge leader within the category.
- Maintain and analyze sales reports; proactively identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop ad hoc reports, dashboards, summaries, and visualizations, translating data into actionable insights.
- Record, manage, and ensure accuracy of pricing data.
- Work within multiple customer data portals to support reporting and insights.
- Support packaging initiatives, including coordination of packaging specifications, updates, and documentation.
- Assist with regulatory compliance efforts, including maintaining product information, label accuracy, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to marketing development projects, including product launches, promotional analysis, and customer-facing materials.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to exceeding expectations.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with supervisors and cross-functional teams.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent food industry experience preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in an analytical or support role preferred but not required.
- Experience supporting regulatory, packaging, or marketing functions is a plus.
- Proven ability to analyze data and deliver actionable insights.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Self-starter with a service-oriented mindset; dependable, persistent, and results-driven.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft D365, Power BI, Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems, customer portals, and tools.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
- Occasional use of hands for handling objects and operating equipment.
- May occasionally lift or move lightweight items.
- Requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
