Job DescriptionThe Drafter oversees projects through all phases of drawing creation and ensures that design documents remain accurate and up to date from initial concept through final product delivery. This role focuses on producing high-quality shop submittal drawings, construction documents, and as-built plans using AutoCAD and Revit, while closely coordinating with project teams and field technicians.
Responsibilities- Oversee projects through all phases of drawing creation, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Shop Submittal, and As-Built drawings from start to finish as needed per project.
- Create detailed shop submittal drawings in both AutoCAD and Revit formats to support project design and fabrication.
- Update drawings to reflect red line revisions provided by team members before and during the design process, ensuring all changes are accurately incorporated.
- Verify that drawings remain aligned with the product being manufactured and with the final product delivered, ensuring plans are consistently current.
- Prepare complete and comprehensive sets of construction documents that support project permitting, coordination, and installation.
- Revise drawings based on red line corrections made by field technicians during installation so that final as-built plans are accurate and ready for future service calls or project expansions.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to clarify design intent, resolve discrepancies, and maintain consistency across all drawing sets.
- Maintain organized drawing files and documentation to support efficient project tracking and future reference.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for creating and modifying detailed drawings and construction documents.
- Proficiency with Revit for producing and coordinating building information models and shop submittal drawings.
- Experience in drafting within architectural, engineering, or construction environments.
- Ability to interpret and produce construction documents, including plans, sections, details, and schedules.
- Experience working with electrical schematics and related technical drawings.
- Strong drafting skills with attention to detail and accuracy in updating red line changes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows.
- Experience with CAD tools and processes for construction documentation.
- Associates degree in architectural drafting, engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using Navisworks for model coordination and clash detection.
- Experience in architecture, engineering, or related fields supporting drafting responsibilities.
- Experience preparing shop submittal drawings for manufactured products.
- Familiarity with PCB-related drawings or layouts.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with design teams, engineers, and field technicians.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple drawing sets and project phases.
- Capability to support future project expansions by maintaining accurate as-built documentation.
This is an in‑office role with a standard schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position operates in a professional office environment focused on design, drafting, and construction documentation, using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, CAD applications, and related software.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ripon, WI.
PayThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
