A Day (and Night) in This Role You kick off with a safety huddle, confirm PPE use, and review production targets. On the floor, you’re coordinating work across presses, reallocating manpower to optimize machine utilization, and jumping in to remove bottlenecks. A near-miss triggers an immediate root-cause investigation. A quality hold? You team up with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to get parts moving again—on time and within spec.
How You Lead Safety first:
Enforce policies, conduct audits, and respond rapidly to incidents or unsafe conditions.
Servant leadership:
Coach, empower, and recognize operators and technicians; create a respectful, inclusive culture where every idea matters.
People development:
Train, mentor, and evaluate skills; drive cross-training; oversee attendance and conduct; serve as the first point of contact for employee relations; collaborate with Union Stewards on contract and discipline matters.
What You Drive Production execution:
Lead the stamping press department to hit aggressive throughput, quality, and delivery goals in a dynamic environment.
Continuous improvement:
Champion 5S, Kaizen, and Lean initiatives; analyze downtime, scrap, and bottlenecks; implement countermeasures with cross-functional partners.
Communication & reporting:
Keep precise production, quality, and safety records; report KPIs to management; coordinate quickly across departments to resolve issues under tight timelines.
What You Bring Proven servant-leadership approach and the ability to motivate teams.
1–3 years in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing; prior supervisory experience—ideally in high-volume stamping press operations.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
