Seneca Foods Corporation - Ripon, WI is in search of a Production Supervisor! During production season (June-November) (9pm-6am) this person is responsible for managing nightly production and sanitation. During the off season (November-June) Monday-Friday with no weekends or holidays worked. Lead and coordinate the activities of the Production function to achieve company goals. Complete daily production requirements in a cost-effective manner which meets or exceeds good manufacturing practices and employee safety.

Adequately train and instruct others within the department.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities, Or

Job Duties
  • Oversee and supervise all production processes to ensure products meet quality and specification standards
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all departmental records, maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Manage production costs to consistently meet or exceed budgetary targets
  • Coordinate cross-departmental activities to ensure safe and efficient delivery, handling, and storage of materials
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and provide training to employees to promote safe and efficient operations
  • Develop and execute daily production plans, ensuring optimal utilization of materials and resources
  • Make informed decisions on product quality, employee concerns, and equipment malfunctions, and promptly elevate issues to management
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by adhering to safety protocols and regulations
  • Assist in developing plant budgets and daily production plans
  • Purchase production supplies
  • Oversee and direct sanitation procedures
  • Conduct performance evaluations on assigned employees
  • Assist other management positions such as Warehouse Manager or Q.C. Manager
  • Coordinate activities between departments to ensure proper receipt and storage of supplies
  • Other duties as assigned or required by Management
Qualifications And Experience
  • Familiarity with raw product preparation, packaging, thermal processes, and other essential procedures (e.g., FDA, USDA, OSHA, AIB, and GMP)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and adaptable to changing needs and priorities
  • College degree and/or 2 to 5 years of relevant experience or training in food manufacturing or a related field
  • Willingness to obtain certifications in Better Process Control School, Thermal Processing, Container Closure School, and other necessary industry training
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a supervisor or Leads person;
    Food Manufacturing experience preferred
