Base pay range$75,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
NELA USA is seeking a Field Service Technician for our River Falls, WI, location.
This position will be based at our production facility in River Falls, WI. Travel will be required up to 70-90% of the time. A candidate for this position must live within easy commuting distance of the MSP airport. NELA USA will provide a relocation allowance for a qualified applicant.

Compensation & BenefitsNELA USA’s hourly wage for this position is $28.00-$32.00/hr we pay for all time worked, including travel and wait time. Total annual compensation will exceed $75,000-$90,000. The starting wage depends on experience, skill set, education, performance, licenses/certifications, and other factors. Benefits include a daily meal allowance and coverage of all travel-related business expenses.

Position SummaryUnder the guidance of our Director of After Sales Service and Engineering, the individual will be responsible for installing, programming, and servicing automation systems and our existing equipment base at customer sites across North and South America.
Responsibilities- Provide onsite commissioning of new equipment following established criteria.
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Train customer personnel in safe and effective equipment operation.
- Collaborate with in-house teams to troubleshoot electrical/programming issues.
- Customize machine programs to meet customer needs.
- Work with customer personnel effectively.
- Work with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, control networks, and other hardware/software.
- Configure products using a laptop and software.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and upgrades.
- Complete customer visit and business expense reports accurately.
- Maintain documentation for customers and projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical theory.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical diagrams.
- Experience with business travel and short-notice projects.
- Ability to travel independently and internationally.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Minimum of 5 years in industrial mechanical or field service experience.
- Technical or electrical degree is a plus.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs., walk, stand, crouch, and climb.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to attend training sessions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug tests.
- Legal right to work in the U.S.
- Adherence to safety protocols during onsite tasks.
