GFL Environmental is seeking a Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of waste collection trucks and heavy equipment. In this essential, safety-first role, you will inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure equipment is compliant and road-ready. You'll work closely with operations teams to minimize downtime, maintain accurate service records, and uphold environmental and safety standards.

Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair trucks, heavy equipment, and hydraulic systems
- Perform preventive maintenance according to company and regulatory standards
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation in maintenance systems
- Collaborate with operations teams to prioritize repair schedules and minimize downtime
- Follow safety protocols, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations
- Order and track parts, tools, and materials as needed
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
