River Forest Public Library is looking for an enthusiastic Children’s Services Librarian to join our creative and collaborative Children’s Services Department, serving kids from age 0 through 4 th grade and their families. The ideal candidate has genuine enthusiasm for working with children in a library setting and a passion for children’s literature, experience with outreach, story times and other programming for kids, and loves interacting with the community.

We are a small library and very collaborative, thus the ideal candidate will not only work well independently, but also within a team driven environment.

• Developing and implementing a wide range of programs for children (from age 0 through 4 th grade)
• Managing and maintaining Children’s print and digital collections
• Outreach programming within the community
• Providing reference and readers’ advisory services in the Children’s Room
• Regular and ongoing administrative tasks within the Department

• MLS from an ALA accredited school
• At least one year of experience working in a library setting
• At least one year of experience working with children and their families

$26.04-$30.63/hr., depending on qualifications.

Health and dental. Participation in IMRF. Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time offered.
