Role OverviewThe Retail Associate engages customers, maintains a clean and organized store, processes transactions, and follows best‑practice merchandising and safety standards. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks that support customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions- Practice safe behaviors and maintain a clutter‑free environment.
- Treat customers and colleagues with respect, courtesy and professionalism.
- Assist customers with merchandise, answer questions and process transactions at all registers.
- Provide prompt and courteous responses to customer service calls.
- Represent Ross brand and adhere to company dress code.
- Perform cleaning tasks (sweep, mop, dust, wipe counters and mirrors, restock restroom supplies).
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Expedite new merchandise receipts and merchandise items per guidelines.
- Understand loss prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information and merchandise.
- Follow all procedures for cash, check, charge card, refunds, voids and offline transactions.

- Excellent verbal communication with customers, associates and store leadership.
- Basic mathematical calculations used in retail.
- Use all store equipment (registers, touch‑screen devices, PCs).
- Stand, walk and move around store for 100 % of the time.
- Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, reach and stoop regularly.
- Push, pull and lift more than 25 lb occasionally.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and assigned supplies.
- Stockroom shifts: push, pull and lift more than 20 lb regularly.

Compensation & Benefits- Base pay range: $15.00 – $15.50 per hour.
