Maintenance Mechanic:

Shift/Schedule, Mon-Fri 6:45AM – 3:00PM. Will need to work Sat/Sun on rotation/as needed, overtime as needed, and call-in for 2nd/3rd shift on rotation.

Starting hourly payrate $30.20 - 39.5 per hour

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on: motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments such as laser alignment tools, stethoscope, tachometer, infrared camera, ultrasound and vibration analysis tools.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, cranes/hoist, rigging equipment, welders, fall restraint, etc.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions, requests and completing feedback documentation and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
  • Expected to take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
  • Mechanical / Technical Understanding - Mechanical Fundamentals: mechanics, lubrication, understanding maintenance documents, pumps, piping systems, welding/cutting (stick, mig, tig and torch). Mechanical power transmission: basic mechanics, bearings. Hydraulic power transmission: basic hydraulics, hydraulic troubleshooting. Basic pneumatic:

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Safety and housekeeping are the first consideration in all activities. The employee must consistently demonstrate an understanding of all plant & departmental safety rules, standards, and programs.
  • Responsible for performing all assignments as delegated by the Mechanical Supervisors. Previous maintenance experience and industrial fabrication strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of rotary valves and dust collector systems
  • Understanding of basic rigging principles and equipment
  • Must have regular and predictable attendance.
  • Expected to gain working knowledge of the Reliability Maintenance Program.
  • Must have ability to safely operate plant golf carts, forklifts, and plant vehicles.
  • Have ability to understand verbal and written instructions from plant supervision and efficiently and effectively perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements necessary for this job area. Ability to negotiate uneven terrain, ramps, steps and ladders.
  • Experience with the use of basic shop equipment (i.e. drill press, stationary band saw, pedestal grinder, etc.)
  • Expected to gain working knowledge of the plant’s confined space program & procedures.
  • Must complete the mechanical skills assessment.
  • Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
