Description
The Special Programs Division is seeking Customer Service Representatives in their Senior Activity Centers! Customer Service Representatives play a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment for facility guests. Whether stationed at the front desk or supporting special events, staff must consistently demonstrate a positive attitude, exceptional communication skills, and a thorough understanding of facility programs and procedures.
Work Locations Available- Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center
- Camp Springs Senior Activity Center
- Gwendolyn Britt Senior Activity Center
- Langley Park Senior Activity Senior
- Provide excellent customer service
- Answer and direct phone calls promptly and accurately
- Register customers for classes, memberships, and events using Parks Direct registration system
- Monitor on-site activities, ensuring safety and adherence to facility rules
- Set up and break down equipment for events, including tables, chairs, and materials
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of event spaces/center
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team operations
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Physical capability to assist with event setup and teardown
Skills and Abilities
- Thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enjoy going above and beyond to serve community members, especially seniors aged 60+
- Have previous experience in customer service
- Display reliability, professionalism, and work effectively as part of a tea
May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.
Work Hours- Hours vary depending on the center’s operations and needs.
- Position is indoors.
- Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check.
- Positions are part-time or seasonal depending on assignment

Limited Benefits For Seasonal Employees Health Insurance PlansYou are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.
If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.
Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
