As an experienced Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing project estimates by analyzing specifications and contract plans to ensure cost-effective quantities and construction methods align with pursuit, schedule and price goals.

The Estimator will support and work with preconstruction/ business development staff in the review of project plans, requirements, and specifications. The Estimator shall perform quantity take-offs, pricing, and bidding of construction projects and have extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles.

What you will be doing- Prepare detailed electrical change order estimates for scope changes directed by the Owner.
- Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
- Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and design changes to quantify impacts.
- Have demonstrated leadership abilities to coordinate a team of estimators to develop a large multidisciplinary estimate.
- Determine labor and equipment costs.
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
- Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks.
- Understand project logistics and project schedule.
- Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Review quotes and estimates with the Project Management Team.
- Prepare estimates at different levels of completion (conceptual, Schematic, DD, CD, etc.)
- Perform certain post-bid buyouts.
- Perform pre-construction duties and meetings with Clients, Owners, and Engineers.
- Serve as company interface between Owner - Architect/Engineer
-DUSA Team and is responsible for developing leadership, motivation, and communication with owners, subcontractors and project team and is accountable for their actions.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or Architecture
- 1-3 years experience estimating heavy civil projects
- Advanced computer skills with estimating
- Demonstrated experience preparing and negotiating change orders.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems for rail, transit, or heavy civil projects preferred.
- Software - HCSS Heavy Bid
- Advanced computers skills with MS Office
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Micro Station, Carlson, InRoads or Geopak desirable
- Knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
- Familiarity of all aspects of horizontal and infrastructure projects
- Well organized, flexible, detail oriented and multi-tasked.
- Prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands
