Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversees the entire high school athletic program and its operations. Responsible for maintaining current records regarding student‑athlete and coaches documentation. Oversees the compliance of student‑athlete and coaching documentation at the assigned middle school(s). Serves in an event management position for athletic events. This position reports to the High School Principal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitors student‑athlete participation documentation in conjunction with the school site Athletic Director for assigned middle school and high school.
  • Monitors coaches’ participation documentation in conjunction with the school site AD for assigned middle school and high school.
  • Develops and publishes schedules of athletic events. Fosters community relations by promoting school athletes and keeping social media sites and website updated.
  • Manages transportation for school athletics and documents expenditures and participation related to gender equity.
  • Oversees maintenance and safety at school athletic facilities.
  • Solicits sponsor ships and initiates fundraising for the school athletic programs. Seeks alternative revenue sources to strengthen athletic opportunities and program self‑sufficiency.
  • Collaborates with guidance counselors and coaches to maximize post‑secondary opportunities for student‑athletes. Educates parents on NCAA processes and entry requirements.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned, to support the athletic program.
Key

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience with coaching, athletic eligibility and compliance, and Georgia High School Association (GHSA) processes.
  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate required;
    Leadership certification preferred.
  • High level of judgment; ability to establish and evaluate objectives with approval of Athletic Director.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Mastery of social networking, website applications, handheld device applications, and media.
  • Ability to work in office, indoor and outdoor settings, including practice fields, game fields, and courts; availability for evenings and weekends.

Salary: 2026‑2027 salary scales are not yet available; 2025‑2026 schedule can be accessed via the school website.
