Position Summary: Instructs students in one or more content areas such as Reading, ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. May be designated according to subject matter/content specialty. Utilizes current strategies and theories to plan and implement lessons. This position reports to the Principal.

• Instructs students using various teaching methods including lecture, audiovisual aids, demonstrations, and supplementary materials.
• Assigns lessons and corrects homework; administers tests to evaluate student progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress.
• Maintains classroom discipline and supervises behavior outside the classroom.
• Prepares course outlines and objectives according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
• Conducts parent/teacher conferences to review student progress, performance, and behavior issues.
• Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.
• Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 as required by the GaPSC.
• Must be able to stand and walk approximately seven to seven-and-a-half hours per day; light duty includes sitting at a desk, intermittently standing, and light lifting up to 20 lbs.
